Dr. Dua will cover the founding idea of Heal, its value to patients, doctors and insurance companies, and especially how she grew it so quickly. She’ll share the challenges and success of such rapid growth.
She will also address the unique challenges of being a woman founder in venture-funded health-tech.
Founder of Heal
Born and raised in Los Angeles, Dr. Renee Dua is a busy working mother who practices medicine while running Heal.
After an agonizing experience taking her infant son to the ER and waiting 8 hours to see a doctor, she decided to form Heal to reduce the amount of waiting time to see a doctor, especially during evenings and weekends when doctor availability is extremely limited.
Dr. Dua is board certified in nephrology, hypertension and internal medicine and served as Chief of Medicine at Valley Presbyterian and Simi Valley Hospitals. She completed her BS in Biochemistry at UC San Diego, her MD at Chicago Medical School/Rosalind Franklin University, her residency at UCLA and her fellowship in nephrology at USC.
